is unusual that a Thai residing unlawfully in the U.S.A. would sue Mr. Donald Trump, the incumbent U.S. President.
matter began with the project “Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals”, or DACA project, announced by President Barack Obama, the previous U.S. President when in office. The project aims to protect youths who immigrated with their parents unlawfully into the U.S.A. so that they would not be prosecuted or deported from the U.S.A.
Mr. Donald Trump became US President, he repealed the DACA project in accordance with his policy announced during his presidential election campaign, that he would not support unlawful immigrants, but would support mainly Americans. Especially, he did not want the U.S.A. to waste finances helping the unlawful immigrants, who also took employment from Americans.
repeal of the DACA project has had an impact on the foreign youths who entered the country unlawfully, and gained benefit from this project, affecting at least 800,000 persons, and possibly be exceeding 1,000,000 persons.
Thai medical student , 29 years old, Mr. Jirayut Latthivongskorn is included among those youths.
Jirayut Latthivongskorn has parents who have stayed in the U.S.A., unlawfully, since 1997. They were impacted by the economic crisis in 1996 on their housing real estate business in Bangkok which suffered loss. Therefore, they moved to the U.S.A. to begin new lives and to seek jobs.
